Marking out a bifold. The pricking iron does the geometry; I just have to not argue with it. 7 SPI on the outside seams, 9 on the card slots — finer where the eye lands.

My grandfather repaired saddles outside Lyon. I inherited his tools and a drawer of thread that outlasts everything it's ever stitched.
A machine seam unravels when it breaks. A saddle stitch doesn't. That's the whole philosophy — build the failure out of the object.
Wallets, belts and bags in French vegetable-tanned leather. No machines except a very old skiver — every seam is stitched by hand with two needles.
